My Story
Graphic Designer
2010 - 2013
I design things since I remember existing but in 2010 I started getting paid for it. My work during this period was more focused on small local business and personal brands for professionals such as lawyers, nutritionist and so...
Early years of Digital Marketing
2013 - 2014
I joined my first digital agency in 2013 and, despite being hired as an illustrator for mainly designing social media posts, I became obsessed about websites and their functioning behind the curtains. That's when started joining projects as fullstack developer or as we called back in the days, webmaster.
During this period, the tech stack used to create websites was very different from nowadays. The only thing that always remained the same was the solid basis of HTML & CSS I acknowledged. I learned how to implement an well crafted interface with high fidelity in details and keep in mind their impact on users.
This step was crucial for my further job adventures.
Full Stack Development - Ruby on Rails
2014 - 2017
Here's when I made my deepest dive in the web development universe. I joined a design studio called Startaê, a company focused on helping startups developing their digital products and its experiences. The clients were mainly California-based companies.
Looking back in time, I can see that's when I learned how to:
Develop as a team using version control toolsWork remote and asynchronouslyCrafting interfaces with the user experience in mindUnderstand the impact and the relationship between my work, the product and the companyKeep an ongoing communication with colleagues, clients and investorsSpeak english fluently with stakeholders
Alternating between Backend/Frontend Development
2017 - TODAY
Since I used to be a Full Stack developer, I was able to play on both sides of the game (backend/frontend). In 2017, we felt the universe of web development shifting from all-in-one platforms to a backend/frontend apartheid approach. This division enabled a higher complexity to the frontend and I began fluctuating between joining projects as backend and frontend developer.
